How reliable are your web servers?

So we can focus on site content we contract with another company to provide web servers. This company guarantees their servers to be functional over 99% of the time. The content is backed up every night so even in the unlikely case of an unforeseen disaster limited losses would occur.

What type of database do you use?

We currently use MySQL databases. MySQL is a very powerful and reliable database used by many large computer companies.
